More heartbreaking details have emerged about Hulk Hogan’s (real name Terry Bollea) health before the legendary wrestler tragically passed away on Thursday.

Hulk Hogan: Greatest WWE Moments Ever

Medical personnel were called to Hulk Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday morning after a dispatcher reported a cardiac arrest at his residence. Paramedics spent 30 minutes trying to revive Hogan before taking him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There are conflicting reports about Hogan’s health before his unexpected passing. Last month, radio host Bubba the Love Sponge reported that Hogan was nearing death, and that loved ones were advised to visit and say their goodbyes.

A source close to Hulk Hogan’s family told Steve Helling of the Daily Mail that the WWE Hall of Famer had a “weak heart” in the weeks leading up to his death. The source told Helling that Hogan was also “suffering from shortness of breath, got tired easily, had lost a lot of weight and was on oxygen.”

Friends of Hogan were also worried about his health, according to a separate report from Graig Graziosi of The Independent:

“Hulk Hogan admitted he was struggling with his health in the year before his sudden death Thursday and some of those close to him thought he was taking it too far, The Independent has learned.

But others close to him said it was just his way, and that he insisted on being on the road and showing up to meet fans because he was ‘running the show’.”

A spokesperson for Empire Agency, which represented Hogan, told The Independent that they thought Hogan “was going too far” with his “Real American Beer” business promotions and travel:

“We also thought that he was going too far with his health, but we couldn’t do anything, because of his deal with the promoter and some other representative dealing with this beer business.”

On top of that, Fightful.com founder Jimmy Van reported that they felt like Hulk Hogan’s management team was “running him into the ground” when it came to promoting his new beer:

Police are investigating Hogan’s death, but said on Thursday that there was no foul play or suspicious activity. He was survived by his two children, daughter Brooke and son Nick, and third wife Sky Daily.

Hulk Hogan Single-Handedly Turned Pro Wrestling Into A Global Phenomenon

Vince McMahon handpicked Hogan as the face of the WWF (now WWE) before the company enjoyed a historic boom in the ’80s. If not for Hogan, the WWE might not be the global phenomenon it is today.
