NFL fans had a lot to say over a viral video of Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt going up against star edge rushers Khalil Mack and Bud Dupree in training camp.
The Chargers are coming off a surprise 11-6 season and playoff appearance under new head coach Jim Harbaugh. But after ending the special year with a blowout loss to the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round, the Chargers enter 2025 with much higher expectations and aim to win their first playoff game since 2018.
LA’s success was largely thanks to the strong bookend tandem of Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, as well as the league’s No. 1 scoring defense led by Khalil Mack. If they continue their dominance in the trenches, Los Angeles will be back in the postseason.
Fernando Ramirez of The Sporting Tribune posted a video of Alt going up against Mack and Bud Dupree on consecutive snaps. The video has quickly gone viral, thanks to Alt’s excellent performance against the two standout veterans:

The Chargers will kick off their 2025 season against the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 5. The game will be held at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil, the first contest of the 2025 NFL International Series.
Joe Alt Looks To Build Off Strong Rookie Season

The No. 5 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft had a rock-solid rookie season, earning a Pro Football Focus grade of 77.6 that placed him 20th among 140 offensive tackles. Alt struggled with penalties (eight) and allowed six sacks, per PFF, but he certainly provided a major boost in the trenches. And all signs point to a breakout year for the Chargers’ sophomore.
